Picture this. It’s summer time, preferably. Mom is graciously dropping a few quarters into your raisiny chlorine stained palm, and you feverishly trot (lifeguards hate running) to buy the candy with the most obnoxious packaging that calls to you at the pool snack stand. Or how about this one. It’s the morning on a weekend, and you crushed more waffles and orange juice than even you expected. With syrup still stuck to your cheeks, and no job or chores on the horizon, you flip on the holy grail lineup of Saturday morning cartoons. Bright, lively, even juicy title screens, theme songs, commercials, outfits, and ridiculous character personalities pour into your retinas and intoxicate your brain. One more. You’re straight lounging in the backseat of your parent’s minivan, and the windows are cracked in that weird horizontal way. As you slip into a daydream session, a barrage of bubbly pop songs invade the open cabin air through the FM radio. Songs about innocent love, dancing carefree all night, and sliding down a rainbow to a sleepover at your best friends (ok that one was a little bit of a stretch, but we had you right?)
